998.My dear swAmi, who has taken naimishAraNyam as your abode, I was with the intention that, ultimate bliss lies in the bright beautiful damsels with radiant teeth, small forehead, broad shoulders and tender bosoms. Not apprehending the thought to be wrong and being totally foolish, I did not even try to find a means to get rid of my samsAric cycle.
Feeling totally ashamed of my previous acts, and thoughts towards women, I now surrender at your feet, who is my sovereign. “naimishAraNiyattu entAy!”.(1)

999. My dear swAmi, who has taken naimishAraNyam as your abode, I wasted all the precious time, giving priority to the mounting pleasures of the senses that could have otherwise been spent in cherishing your divine attributes. Without even the least realisation about your dharmik nature, I went behind pretty ladies with beautiful long black eyes adorned with anklets on their feet.
Oh! Wonderous lord, wielding the plough in your divine hands and born in the cowherd clan, you are the head of the dEvas and celebrated by nithyasoories. I now come and surrender at your feet.

1000.My dear guardian lord! who churned the milky ocean, bestowed the divine nectar and guarded the dEvas, you have taken naimishAraNyam as your chosen abode.
On account of acquiring wealth, I gambled through the day and deployed myself to burglary through the night. Not stopping there, having serious attraction towards the curly hair damsels, I spent my time serving them.
After all this, realising the punishment and trauma that lies ahead, to be given by the servants of yamA for my misdeeds, my organs shiver in fear and I come surrendering myself unto you.

1001. My dear lord!, who has taken naimishAraNyam as your abode, It is said that if one betrays his own beautiful wife with fragrant tresses and eye on others wealth and their women, the servants of yama will appear in thousands, to torment and as they get tired, bring a copper model of a woman that is blazing hot and ask us to embrace it.
I come rushing, to surrender at your feet, oh! Lord, fearing the very thought of the torture and the harsh words that one has to face and listen after death, by thousands of yamA’s servants. “naimishAraNiyattu entAy!”. (4)

1002. My dear swAmi, who has taken naimishAraNyam as your abode, struck by poverty, when mendicants seek alms, crying to curb their hunger with at least a single meal, as a mean person I refrained saying, “I have nothing to give”.
Oh! Gosh! Thinking about the repercussion of my sinful act, fetching me severe torments by yamA’s servants who are barbarous in words and action, I come running to your divine feet oh! lord. (naimishAraNiyattu entAy!) (5)

1003. Oh! lord of lords (paramanE!), resting in paramapadam for the sake of your devotees and chose naimishAraNyam as your abode, having a mind not inclined to ethical deeds and initiating acts that instigate anger, I rejoiced, roaming about hunting with dogs, killing animals and running afar, without realising that God is there. Now that I have taken refuge under your feet, I feel that the place of Yama has been crushed and crumbled.

1004. Oh! Lord of NaimishAraNiyam, who governs the nithyasoories and instil fright in demons (dhAnavar), you showed your anger to kapithAsuran who came in the guise of the vilam fruit filled tree, but entered my heart whose thoughts and deeds never go hand in hand and stayed permanently there.
Hearing about the age old path of hell, that leads people who think, pronounce and perform the unrighteous deeds, I ran towards you trembling in fear.

1005. Oh! Lord of NaimishAraNiyam, hued like the deep spread ocean, who has taken Thirukkurungudi as one of your abode, Kali purushan activated the five senses to torment on me. But I have reversed the fierce actions of these senses by uttering well metered garland of songs.
How can these senses be active anymore when I have surrendered and fallen at your feet?

1006. Oh! My gracious master, who is present in a reclining state on the deep wavy tiruppArkadal, Lord of NaimishAraNiyam, who is the consort of Periya PiraaTTi having the nectar borne lotus as her seat, when the soul leaves this temporary dwelling place of the body made of flesh over the skeleton as pillars and covered with skin and hair, having nine holes, I was with the idea that I wanted to be at your divine feet.
Now with great penance, I am blessed to be at your feet

Oh! SwAmi, of NaimishAraNyam, the dEvAs along with their leader IndrA, having the sole intention of getting enlivened from miseries, unitedly come to worship you. Holding this thought deeply in his heart,Kaliyan indulged in bakthi, set to meter these garland of songs about Lord Shri Hari.
Those who comprehend and recite these songs are sure to govern this land surrounded by ocean under the royal white canopy (வெண் கொà®±்à®± குடை) and unite with the nithyasoories too. (10)
ThAyAr Shri Hari Lakshmi and perumAL Shri Hari Thiruvadigale Sharanam.
