These are two laudatory verses about the divine kshetram and the  glory of tirumazhisai AzhvAr.

தருச்சந்த பொழில்தழுவு தாரணியின் துயர்தீர 

திருச்சந்த விருத்தம்செய் திருமழிசை பரன்வருமூர் | 

கருச்சந்தும் காரகிலும் கமழ் கோங்கும் மணநாரும் 

திருச்சந்தத் துடன் மருவு திருமழிசை வளம்பதியே ||(1)

tiruchchanda viruttamchey tirumazhisai paranvarumoor | 

karuchchandum kAragilum kamazh kONgum maNanArum 

tiruchchandattuDan maruvu tirumazhisai vaLampadiyE || One ||

These four lines can be explained in the form of a query and an answer.

Which is the place of birth of Tirumazhisai AzhvAr who has given this Prabandam Tiruchchandaviruttam inorder to relieve the sufferings of the people of this world surrounded by groves filled with karpaga and sandalwood trees (taru-chanda)?

The last two lines gives the answer.

It is none other than the place where the Goddess of wealth SRI MAHALAKSHMI or Periya pirATTi, willingly resides called Tirumazhisai that is fragrant and rich with the groves of precious Sandal wood trees, the dark eagle wood trees and the sweet smelling Kongu trees.

உலகுமழிசையும் உள்ளுணர்ந்து தம்மிற்  புலவர் புகழ் கோலால் தூக்க உலகு தன்னை | 

வைத்தெடுத்த பக்கத்தும் மாநீர் மழிசையே வைத்தெடுத்த பக்கம் வலிது || (2)

ulagumazhisaiyum uLLuNarndu tammiR pulavar pugazh kOlAl tookka ulagu tannai vaitteDutta pakkattum mAneer mazhisaiyE vaitteDutta pakkam validu || (2)

This second verse talks about the greatness of this holy place also referred as mahEsAra kshEtram  (மஹீஸாரம்) embedding within it the sthala purAnam too.

While well learned rishis and sages, analysing in their mind, placed the whole of universe on one side and this divya desam     Tirumazhisai on the other side of a weighing scale, the side having the kshEtram became heavier indicating it to be the most glorious place on the earth. .
