Advising the heart to take shelter under lord NArAyanA of badari who is the mantraswaroopan himself in the previous decade, here in this decade, azhvAr advises to take refuge in this twin kshEtram, badrikAshramam where EmperumAn taking the ‘nara’ form exhibits the traits of a shishya for the sake of the chetanAs.

978.My lord NArAyaNA, in the days of the yore, during varAha kalpam, when earth got submerged in the oceanic deluge, as the supreme celestials including brahmA and others took refuge unto the divine pair of feet, transformed himself into a wild boar and retrieved it. Further, stringing his bow, he made the body of rAvaNA belonging to the clan of Dhanur  (dhAnavan agam) roll on the ground. 

He is stationed in ‘BadrikAshram’, along the banks of river GangA, where the dEvAs  worship him, offering the fragrant, honey laden, divine flowers garnered from the kalpaka orchards. My heart, lodge yourself unto him.(1)

979. My lord almighty! Aimed and struck the deceitful golden deer, with his gruelling arrows. Further, he pierced the chest and took the life out of vAli, for the sake of Sugreeva. 

He resides in BadrikAshram, situated on the banks of the ancient river Ganga , where brahma born from the lotus flower, comes along with other dEvatAs pushing each other to bathe in the water before offering his prayers. My heart, let us take refuge unto him.(2)

980. My lord, Chakravarthi tirumagan, during rAmAvatAr, had to perform gruesome acts like, devastate the fortified lanka and the sea below it, annihilate mighty rAvaNA who is the lord of two types of nidhis namely sanga nidhi and padma nidhi,(confiscated from his step brother kubEr) together with the whole rAkshasha clan. 

This lord, permanently abodes in BadrikAshram, situated on the banks of the river Ganga that hits mount ‘mEru’, circumambulated by the sun, and spreads in the sky like the white cloth hoisted on a flag post, falling down strong and clear. My heart, take initiative to go and reach him. (3)

981. Oh! My dear heart, who is unaware of the purport, listen to my advice firmly. Lord EmperumAn, who graciously eliminates the sufferings  of his devotees and bestows the greatest realm of paramapadam, which is the abode of nithyasooris, resides perpetually, on the banks of river Ganga, where the water that brings with its current, garments, precious gems that are studded in the long jewels of the celestial damsels who adorn their curly hairs with beautiful flowers in this place called BadrikAshram.(4)

982. My lord, my master, sat on the lap of the demoness pUtanA, who came in the disguise of a mother and consumed her breast milk. On seeing this, mother yashOdha was stuck in fear and lamented saying, “what will happen to my child? He is stuck with the one who has come to harm him.” Thus he grew up.

This lord is stationed in BadrikAshram, situated on the banks of river Ganga, that cascades from the golden peak of mount mEru that holds the universe on it. My heart, please pay your obeisances to him. (5)

983. At the time, when seven bulls were lined up, in accordance with winning the hands of nappinnai PiraaTTi, whose beautiful sides of the body resemble the chariot and whose eyes resemble the kayal fish, my cloud hued emperumAn, performed a terrifying act of taming them. 

This emperumAn resides in BadrikAshram on the banks of river Ganga, that flowed down to the earth with immense force thrashing the mountains and dragging the elephants on its way as a result of the severe penance made by Bageerathan. My dear heart, worship him. (6)

984. EmperumAn bestowed the glorious elephant IyrAvatham, the divine nectar churned out of ThiruppArkadal, and the highest position of being the king of dEvAs, to the desirous Indra, and gave himself to us with least expectations. 

This lord, my father and master, worshipped by the dEvAs, made Ganga flow from thousand outlets of mandara mountain and stationed himself on the banks of river Ganga in BadrikAshram. My dear heart pay your obeisances to him (7)

985. As a king, when seetha PiraaTTi expressed her desire for the golden deer, he went chasing behind mareechA the disguised deer and showing his anger aimed at it with his beautiful bow. In great fury against the golden hued hiraNyan, who was the enemy to his devotee, using the tip of his nails, tore open the body. He relieved shiva from the cruel brahmahathi curse.

This lord resides in  BadrikAshram on the banks of river Ganga, where the great sage brahmarishi vishvAmitra took Perumal (rAma) and iLayaperumAl (LakshmaNa) along with him. My heart, worship him.(8)

986. My lord almighty, swallowed the clouds along with the air, mountains, tumultuous oceans, entire worlds and many other things securing it in his stomach. He manifests himself as the bright sun, moon, heaven and the kalpams. 

This lord resides in BadrikAshram on the banks of the clear Ganga river, that came down crashing to the earth, making way through the Brahma lokam by the great efforts of bageerathan. (9)

987.Tirumangai AzhvAr also referred as kaliyan, thoughtfully wrote these tuned songs, about the lord who is hued like the ocean that is formed of all three types of water (river, spring and rain) residing in BadrikAshram on the banks of the pristine clear wavy Ganga that flows furiously. 

Those who comprehend and master these ten songs are sure to rule this world surrounded by ocean under the white canopy of royalty (veNkotrakuDai) and later reach the abode of brahma (satyalOka) and thereafter unite with the nithyasoories. (10)
