I worship the great heroic poet, who is capable of removing the darkness of ignorance through his divyaprabandam such as Tirumozhi and can swipe away the adversities of the Kali yuga.

Long Live the pure devoted King of tirumangai who received the upadEsham of aShTAkshara mantra from the lord almighty showing his valour possessing the resplendent mighty sword.

நஞ்சுக்கு நல்லவமுதம் தமிழ் நன்னூல் துறைகள்

அஞ்சுக்கிலக்கியமாரணசாரம், பரசமய

பஞ்ஜுக் கனலின்பொறி, பரகாலன் பனுவல்களே.


nenjchukku iruL kaDi deepam aDangA neDum piRavi

nanjchukku nallavamudam tamizh nannool tuRaigaLa

anjchukkilakkiyam AraNachAram, parachamaya

panjjuk kanalinpoRi, parakAlan panuvalgaLE.


The songs of the Divya prabandam rendered by parakAlan can expunge the ignorance and enlighten the mind. It works as the remedy that can convert the poisonous horrendous cycles of birth to nectar. It is a rich Tamizh work embedded with all elements and the essence of the vEdAs standing as a spark of fire to cotton ( referring here to the other religions that stand against vEdAs).

shangai kEduttAnDa tavarAsA – pongupugazh

mangaiyarkOn eenda maRai Ayiram anaittum

tangumanam nee enakuttA.


Oh!, rAmAnujA!, the king among sages, you are our only refuge. You have captivated our minds by clarifying the doubts that evolve around the vEdasAstras. We look upon your grace to perceive and assimilate the entire Periya Tirumozhi and other prabandams.


மாலைத் தனியே வழிபறிக்க வேணுமென்று

கோலிப்பதி விருந்த கொற்றவனே – வேலை

அணைத்தருளும் கையால் அடியேன் வினையை

துணித்தருள வேணும் துணிந்து

– இந்த தனியன் அதிகம் வழக்கில் இல்லை. இது, மணவாள மாமுனிகள் அல்லது சோமாசியாண்டான் அருளிச் செய்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது.

Oh!, tirumangai mannan!, the great monarch, you hid yourself behind the tiruvarasu, in order to plunder EmperumAn and PiraaTTi off their ornaments. I plead before you to slay away the karmic deeds of this servitor with your sacred hands that embraces the mighty sword.
